The President of Bangladesh North American Journalists Network (BNJNET)

Promoting integrated management practices is a top priority for leading academics, researchers, stakeholders, and management professionals in Bangladesh and beyond to end poverty and improve economic and social well-being for all. This goal is being pursued through the pro-poor Climate Change Strategy of the Bangladesh North American Journalists’ Network’s Coastal19 in partnership with the Step to Humanity Association. The strategy prioritizes adaptation and disaster risk reduction, low carbon development, technology transfer, and finance for the blue economy. It also involves crucial capacity building and institutional strengthening through action plans in areas such as food security, social protection, healthcare, education, disaster management, infrastructure, research, knowledge management, and low carbon development advocacy.

organization-wide growth.

Mission

Our mission at Coastal19 groups are planning and executing our vision with innovation, creativity and originality to leave a never ending impression for achieving our goals.

Values

Coastal19 is committed to creating a safe and livable coastal zone in Bangladesh. Covering over 580 km of coastline and home to over a quarter of the country’s population, the coastal zone is essential for its social, economic, and environmental well-being. However, the area is highly susceptible to climate-related threats such as cyclones, storm surges, coastal erosion, and rising sea levels.

To address these challenges, Coastal19 implements disaster risk reduction strategies, such as building embankments and cyclone shelters, as well as community-based solutions. We also run educational programs, provide skills training, and take proactive measures to minimize loss of life and protect economic and developmental gains.
